Ginger Beef with Onions and Garlic

I love the taste of ginger! So I knew I had to give this one a try!
Ingredients:
~ 1 to 2 lbs. of beef strips
~ 1 cup of chicken broth (use 1/2 cups if your cooking in a smaller crock pot, mine is larger so it was suggested to use more)
~ 1 yellow onion cut into rings
~ 1 whole head of garlic, peeled
~ 1 inch peeled and grated ginger
~ 1/2 t ground black pepper
Directions:
Put a big of olive oil in the bottom of the crock pot
Add the meat, mine was frozen still
Chop all the onions and peel the garlic, add to pot
Add the ginger, black pepper, and the chicken broth
Cover and cook for 6-8 hours
Since my meat was still frozen I cooked for 8 hours on low.
Verdict:
To me this meal was just okay. The meat did not have a strong taste as i had hoped. It kind of had a more grainy taste to me...it's weird to explain. It was still an enjoyable meal, but not what I was expecting it to taste like. Not for sure if i'll add it to the rotation of food.
Menu:
ginger beef
white rice
brocoli
salad
